For Individuals

Physiotherapy

Kensington Physiotherapy offers expert physiotherapy care for whatever your injury or ailment may be.  Bobby Milton established Kensington Physiotherapy in 1991 and built the practice into a unique, forward-thinking practice that strives for optimum patient care through the expertise of their therapy team. Bobby has now been joined by her daughter Jo for the next generation of physiotherapy at the clinics. Kensington Physiotherapy will continue provide the outstanding level of service that the clinics reputation was built on.

The current team has a wealth of experience ranging from NHS, private hospital, private practice, women’s health, stroke rehabilitation, the British Army, recreational sports people through to international sporting teams.  Whatever the problem is, there is a specialist physiotherapist at Kensington Physiotherapy that can help you.

The therapists’ skills include (but are not limited to) biomechanical assessments, manipulations, muscle energy techniques, active release therapy, acupuncture, clinical Pilates and specific exercise therapy.  We focus on very hands on approach to ensure you get the best possible treatment available.

All our team is committed to further education and learning.  The majority of the team have gone on to Masters level education and everyone is involved in our monthly education programs.  This allows the team to develop and grow as individuals whilst also benefitting the team as a whole.  As a result our patients are safe in the knowledge that the care they are receiving is the most up to date and evidence based as it can possibly be.  This means better care and more successful outcomes.

We are active members of the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP) as well as the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). All physiotherapists are also registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).  Our professional standards are exceptional.

Pilates

Pilates is not new! Joseph Pilates started this form of exercise back in the early 20th century.  However, Pilates has evolved and now Physiotherapists are teaching what is known as “Clinical Pilates”.

Clinical Pilates is a step-by-step form of Pilates tailored towards your particular problem.  It is designed to alleviate discomfort and not aggravate.  It is also an excellent form of exercise for those looking to develop stability while maintaining flexibility.

As mentioned above, it is also an ideal form of exercise for ante and post natal women.  It will help you engage the correct muscles and switch on your inner core.

We offer one-to-one, one-to-two equipment Pilates (Reformers) and one-to-one, one-to-two, one-to-three and one-to-four matwork/swiss ball Pilates classes.

Ergonomics

The sedentary lifestyle of today’s workforce often results in low back pain, neck pain, referred pain into the arms or legs and sometimes repetitive strain injury (RSI).  Our team are experts in workstation assessment, postural retraining and correcting the contributing factors. Desk-related problems are all too common yet easily rectified.  This can result in saving companies time and money.

Patients will be guided through their work-station step-by step ensuring all aspects are covered.  Documents to remind the patient are freely available in the clinic.

Womens Health

Our female physiotherapists are all experts in pregnancy-related problems whether these be ante or post-natal.  Physiotherapists understand the changes that your body undergoes during and after pregnancy and the problems this can cause.  A thorough and careful examination will result in an individualised treatment plan being developed with your physiotherapist.

We are pleased to offer ante and post-natal Pilates on both the mat and equipment. .

Neuro Physiotherapy

Private neurological physiotherapy is not readily on offer but we are proud to be able to help the community.  Our physiotherapist team is trained in both Bobath and Motor Relearning Program techniques (specific to the Physiotherapist you book with.)

A thorough assessment and treatment plan will be developed and from there the hard work starts.  Stroke rehabilitation is hard work and requires commitment from both sides; this is where we will help.  The rest comes from you.
